Terms of Service

Last updated 23 July 2026

1. Who these terms are with

These terms apply between you and The Chocolate Lodge, home of Cooking with Kasha, beside Hazel Mountain Chocolate in Oughtmama, County Clare, Ireland. Booking a seat or a room means you accept them.

2. What you are booking

A cooking experience is a small group day at the lodge, six seats at one table, running about three hours. It includes a welcome and a tour of the lodge, a cooking demonstration you take part in, the meal we make shared at the table, a tour of the Hazel Mountain chocolate factory and a Hazel Mountain Chocolate gift to take home. The exact dishes follow the season and may change.

A room-only stay is the guest en-suite room at the lodge, at 200 euro per night with a minimum stay of 2 nights, arranged by email. It includes a guided tour of Hazel Mountain Chocolate and morning coffee and a croissant at the Hazel Mountain cafe.

3. Booking and payment

Seats are held only once payment has gone through. Payment is taken in full at the time of booking, through Stripe. Your booking is confirmed by the email we send you afterwards; if that email does not arrive, contact us before assuming your seat is held.

All prices are in euro and include VAT where it applies. A room-only stay is arranged and paid for by agreement with us over email.

4. Changes and cancellations

5. Food, allergies and dietary needs

Tell us about allergies and dietary requirements when you book, and we will do our best to accommodate them. The kitchen is not free from allergens: gluten, dairy, nuts, eggs and other allergens are handled in it, so we cannot guarantee that any dish is free from traces. If you have a severe allergy, please contact us before booking so we can be honest with you about whether the day will work.

6. At the lodge

7. Getting there

Directions are sent with your confirmation. Travel to and from the lodge is your own arrangement and at your own cost. We recommend not driving if you plan to drink.

8. Our responsibility to you

We will provide the experience with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Beyond that, our liability for any booking is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as travel or accommodation you booked separately.

Your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law are not affected by anything on this page.

9. Our content

The text, photographs, recipes and design on this website belong to The Chocolate Lodge and to Food for Stories, or are used with permission. Please do not reuse them commercially without asking us first.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your booking is the one published when you booked, and the date at the top tells you which that is.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. If something goes wrong, email us first: almost everything is quicker to solve directly. As a consumer in the EU you may also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.
